Semi Busking

We had a field trip today to try and get Hubby some steel toe shoes as the only pair in the shop here had a defect in the upper that could cause serious damage to his foot.
As there was another store in Skeg, we went there and as it’s in the arcade, Maggie and I stayed outside.

I sat on a bench and listened to a busker strumming his guitar and singing a medley of Rod Stewart, Beatles, Eric Clapton and a lot of other favourites I knew the words to, so was singing along behind him.
Hubby was gone for about half an hour and when he came back, said the shop had a pair, but the same defect was present, so he had to think again.
There was a sports shop at the end of the arcade, so he went back in thinking to get a pair of Skechers like mine. That was a no go too as he needed a half size and they don’t do one after size 10.
Bummer.

Off tomorrow in the other direction and see what we might find.
We shall also be nipping into a butchers to see if we can get a nice piece of steak for our dinner. We were thinking of going out for a meal, but are restricted having the dog. We know of several places where we can take her, but prices are a little steep so I’m quite happy to cook at home.
Steak, salad and a jacket potato for me, and steak, wedges and mixed veg for Hubby are all doable with minimum effort.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. That’s the sign of a good busker when you can sing along.
