Jim has given us Hurt/Pain/Agony/Suffer as our theme this week

This is a classic by R.E.M. from their 1992 album Automatic for the People.
This is the first time I’d seen the official video for it.
This one reduces me to tears though
“Everybody Hurts”
And the night, the night is yours alone
When you’re sure you’ve had enough
Of this life, well hang on
Don’t let yourself go
‘Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes
Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it’s time to sing along
When your day is night alone (Hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go (Hold on)
If you think you’ve had too much
Of this life, well hang on
Cause everybody hurts
Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts
Don’t throw your hand, oh no
Don’t throw your hand
If you feel like you’re alone
No, no, no, you are not alone
If you’re on your own in this life
The days and nights are long
When you think you’ve had too much of this life to hang on
Well, everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes
So hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts
No, no, no, no you are not aloneCourtesy azlyrics.com
That REM song always gets to me. For some reason I can remember the video vividly.
It’s a brilliant song.
Lovely shares and yes without the rain we would never have the rainbows in life.
Sending warm well wishes this Bank Holiday Di.. enjoy.. ❤
Thanks Sue. You too.
❤
Nice song Di.
Thanks Jim
I’ve always loved the REM version, but Father Ray Kelly had me in tears. His congregation is blessed to have him. ❤
They are indeed.
Always a great song by R.E.M. but the priest just knocked it out of the park. Wonderful! 🙂
He was good wasn’t he.
