Following through on an idea

When we were out yesterday, I went into an arts and crafts shop and purchased some gold and silver glitter doilies I’d seen the week before. I’ve been playing with them today and made three on this theme but with different coloured butterflies. Most of my trimmings are silver, so I’ll need to get something gold to use with the others, but the idea is simple and easy.
A few days ago though I woke up with thoughts for a card but couldn’t get it straight in my head.
When I first started which I guess is about 10 years ago now (gulp!) it worked quite well but I haven’t done one like this for a while.
With being able to buy cards that already have holes cut out and kits that just need to be put together, in a way I haven’t been that creative, so it was nice to take an idea and work on it from scratch.
To be honest, it took me several minutes to work out how to make my initial cut as my mind went completely blank!
The whole thing actually took over an hour to put together, then when it was nearly finished I wanted to add some finishing touches and realised I should have done them first! Never mind, I had another idea and I’m pleased with it as it’s for a particular person.
This shows it off better
What do you think?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Looks pretty professional to me. I still have cards that my daughter and granddaughter made years ago. They’re not perfect, but are so special because it took time to make. Any fool can hand over some money and buy a card, but it takes someone special to spend a small portion of their life creating a card for somebody. Home made cards are obviously the best. No contest! 🙂

They certainly look good, and any new birthday ideas are welcome. We always seem to be in the thick of them with friends and family.
