I’ve been back from darts about half an hour and am unwinding before retiring to bed.
We won 8 points to 6 tonight, my partner and I beating our opponents in three straight matches. I was quite pleased with the way I played as I scored a few in the 70s and 2 in the 80s. I got double one to win our second game, but in this league you play all three games, not the best of.
Our supper this evening was sausages and chips, a couple of which found their way into my bag and I was Maggie’s best friend as soon as I got in the car!
The ladies play their gallon match first this season, 701 down, straight in, double out.
I was first to throw and scored a fantastic 13, earning myself a fine. How embarrassing after playing so well earlier on. However, I made up for it a couple of throws later with 120, which put my name on the sheet for a score over 100. Not the conventional way either, two treble 18s and a 12!
The lads were doing brilliantly, almost 300 points ahead and down to a double, but they couldn’t get it, ending up on double 1 and lost. Never mind.
At home, the new dart board is being used every day, and although 180 still eludes me, I am hitting the twenties with more frequency now. Hubby is pleased with his new darts and chuffed as rocks when he got out on the bull!
Blind pairs next week, so I’ll leave my glasses at home LOL!
You turn up to register at 7.45 and you can be paired with anyone of the opposite sex from any team.
Seriously though, I doubt if I’ll go as it’s some distance away and will be a long night.
