For visually challenged writers, the image shows a rainbow-rayed sun shining through the apex of a triangle created by two trees leaning together. The viewer stands on dark, shadowed ground, while the gap through the trees leads to a brilliant green lawn.
That last drink must have been spiked.
He could usually handle his liquor, but something was amiss tonight.
How did he get here anyway?
And that light was so damn bright!
And it was quiet.
Where was everybody?
In fact, where was he?
It suddenly registered that the light was travelling upwards and leaving him behind.
As if it had deposited him somewhere…………………….
The memory hit him like a freight train.
He remembered everything now.
The light had attracted him in the first place and he’d been enveloped by it, absorbed into it, and it taken him beyond the realms of the comfort zone of a whisky bottle.
He looked at his watch to discover he’d lost five days on his trip to ‘somewhere else’.
Who would believe him if he started on about abductions and little green men (they were yellow actually)
He needed a drink……………. if he could find a pub.
