Sue Vincent over at Daily Echo asks us to use the image below as inspiration to create a post… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever we choose.
This is mine.
We used to come here a lot, you and I.
The fun we had in these fields when we were young, me chasing you and you enjoying the chase. I often wondered if you actually let me catch you.
We’d roll in the grass and kiss, then run home to hot dinners and freshly cooked bread.
Those days are behind us now, but this place will always be special to us.
I can never forget those happier times.
No worries, carefree to come and go more or less as we pleased.
You loved it here, so it is only right that this is your final resting place. I’ve tied your favourite toy to the post just in case you get lonely.
The farmer said it was OK. His own dog is buried in the corner to the North.
Maybe you’re both playing together at Rainbow Bridge.
