MLMM Wordle #128

Here we go with the Monday Wordle.

It’s taken me a while to get something together, but the crux of this actually happened.

1. 1960s
2. Insert
3. Rush
4. Tag
5. Unknown
6. Svelte
7. Temporize verb (used without object), tem·po·rized, tem·po·riz·ing.
to be indecisive or evasive to gain time or delay acting.
to comply with the time or occasion; yield temporarily or ostensibly to prevailing
opinion or circumstances.
to treat or parley so as to gain time (usually followed by with)
to come to terms (usually followed by with ).
to effect compromise (usually followed by between ).
8. Complex

9. Curls
10. Heiligenschein (German for “halo” or “aureola”, pronounced [ˈhaɪlɪɡənˌʃaɪn]) is an optical phenomenon in which a bright spot appears around the shadow of the viewer’s head in the presence of dew. In photogrammetry and remote sensing, it is more commonly known as the hotspot.)
11. Bounce
12. Speech

I remember instances with teeth and therapy in the 1960s.
I would temporize dental visits with a rewarding treat at the bakery because it was believed one treatment would help with the other.
I had been tagged with having a speech impediment and so began the circle of extractions to make way for a brace and therapy to improve my lisp.
I was hardly a cutie svelte Shirley Temple with bobbing curls, but I developed a complex about my failing, and after seven extractions, refused to bounce back into the land of Doing-As-I-Was-Told. I made a rush for the door having told the dentist that he could insert the needle into an orifice that was yet unknown to me but sounded good in anger whilst Mum was doing a pretty good heiligenschein impression in the corner in shock at my outburst.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Very well done. ✅👍

  2. 7 extractions?! That must have been a terrible ordeal. My husband likewise has a real dread of going to the dentist and with good reason.

    • I hated my dentist, It was the time they’d just introduced injections before fillings and he hurt me big time as I was one of the first patients to receive it. Every time I went though, he’d announce the need for an extraction (or two at one stage) to make way for a brace which cut into my gums so I didn’t wear it. I swear that rather than adjust the brace he tried to adjust my mouth, and after 7 I’d had enough.
