What do you See? April/09/2019

What an interesting image to work with this week Hélène.

I am the Mother of all things,
My love is endless, eternal.
They gather to worship the Sun,
The heart and soul of Being.

I listen to the howling wind,
Trees sway and dip their limbs
In waters blue and cool,
The essence of life and giving.

Greed and malice raise their heads,
Destruction to take what is not theirs,
The future is not bright,
Harmony is lost and replaced by discord.

I cry tears of sorrow and despair,
My children have lost their way.
The valleys and forest lay barren,
The world is flanked by darkness.

The sun is weakened by foolishness,
The time will soon come to try again:
I am the Mother of all things,
Love, laughter, folly, and pain.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

  1. Amazing poem, Di. You have expressed it all in your sumptuous poetry, your end with a clamor of powerful words.
The sun is weakened by foolishness,
The time will soon come to try again:
I am the Mother of all things,
    Love, laughter, folly, and pain.
