Tuesday Photo Challenge – Sunrise

Frank’s theme this week is Sunrise.

We saw some beauties when we were on the boat.

These were taken from the bow in June 2015.

There is just something about that moment when the sun peeps upwards on the horizon, the start of a new day.

These were taken on Christmas Day 2018.

And these were taken on August 5th at 5.30 a little further up the beach. It was a special day, being my Mum and Dad’s wedding anniversary and the Book of Remembrance would be open at that page with the new entry in it ‘Together Again’.

I see with moistened eyes
The glory of the Sun’s rise,
Promises of what will be
As it shines across the sea.
When the warmth of that very first ray
Heralds the start of a new day,
In my mind I would love to share
This moment, so precious and rare:
My memories still vivid and clear,
Happy days full of love and cheer,
Though they are no longer here,
In my heart, they will always be near.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Great pics and poem.
I found myself wondering if, unless with a series, there is any way of telling from a photo whether it is sunrise of sunset?

  3. Love the words and wonderful pictures.
