Sunday Photo Fiction: March 10th

Welcome to Susan’s weekly challenge:

Here is this week’s photo, courtesy of first time photo contributor, Lakshmi Bhat.
It’s my job not let him wander too far. This is a pretty quiet neighbourhood and the dirt road devoid of heavy traffic, so I’ll just let him get a little further.
Can’t take my eyes off him though, he can be so damn quick. Don’t let those little legs fool you. He can run pretty fast when he wants to but I’m faster and he tends to fall over when he gets too excited.
I was the one to help him take his first steps. He held on so tight, I thought he’d choke me!
Now everywhere is to be explored, but under supervision of course.
Uh-oh…….. here we go. Time to get off my bed and head him off at the path.
Guard dogs aren’t just for property you know.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Cute! And yeah, I love it when they fall when they get too excited. They lose their balance right away:)

    So sweet, well written.

  3. Wonderfully descriptive. Delightful.

This is between the owner and the pet. Yes, a pet can be fast and yes, pet should get off the bed. Nice story.

Great twist at the end. Totally changed how I saw the story.
