Last night we covered our new plants with large flower pots weighted down with stone to protect them from the threatened minus temperatures and frost.
Maggie got me up at 6.45 this morning and it was raining.
Oh well, better safe than sorry I suppose.
I put on my joggers and a coat, then let her out into the garden. We don’t have a back door so one of us has to go with her. Hubby was still asleep, so I didn’t disturb him.
It has been raining all day. It’s what we term invisible rain, that horrible drizzle that seeps into your clothes and chills your bones without you really noticing until it’s too late.
Typically the dog wanted to go out around 10.30, so Hubby took her for a walk round the park while I did the housework.
Dinner is the third day of our stew, but is only really soup now and not very filling, so I made Hubby his McCheese and I had a tomato pasta. We’ll have the soup tonight around 5pm and I’ll take some chicken out of the freezer for a curry tomorrow.
The rain got harder a little while ago, not exactly the stair rod stuff, but heavy enough to hear and see. At least the wind hasn’t come to anything apart from being cold.
They’re racing their bikes on the beach today. We can hear them in the distance and I bet they are getting soaked. I expect spectators will watch from the dry and warmth of the cafe, so they will be busy and it’s probably standing room only.
Luckily we had no plans so can relax and have a lazy day. I made cake yesterday so Hubby’s pleased as he has something nice to nibble on now!
The internet (touch wood) seems to be behaving itself so far and I’ve caught up with my reader with half a dozen challenges in drafts to work on.
Just hope I get some inspiration!
Have a good day everyone.
