Thursday Write Photo: Tranquil

A fabulous picture from Sue this week.

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a secluded corner, with calm water reflecting the green leaves of summer .

The pollutants in the water give the surrounding foliage a mystical glow.
Who has ever heard of purple sands and violet trees with their indigo branches and orchid mauve leaves?
All the colours of purple are apparent here, the softness of tinged silver and warmth of colour hypnotic and surreal.
Anyone stumbling upon this place would lose track of time, falling victim to its beauty and sense of solitude.
Bathe or drink the water at your peril. Some say it is deadly,  yet for others it has healing properties.
No-one knows the secret of the Purple Lake and her Guardians, yet she offers Peace, Tranquility and the stillness of Time to all.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That’s an intriguing idea, Di… and I wonder how it is determined who finds healing and who poison? Perhaps we carry it with us.

  2. Hélène - Willow Poetry says:

Oh, I love it, the intrigue of such a lake.

  3. Does the lake judge on the purity of the person’s soul? That would be a very interesting tale.

As purple is my favourite colour, so much so that it’s the only one I ever wear aside from black, you can probably imagine that I particularly appreciate both this beautiful piece and the stunning image. I would indeed lose track of time if were to stumble across it. Thanks for creating my purple heaven!

This is my reblog choice for Sue’s Write Photo challenge. Written in March 2019, the picture shows a quiet place, one where you could relax and reminisce.

As beautiful now as it was last March 💜💜💜
