The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 16/19

Linda has given us  “yawn ” as our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday and asks us to write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “yawn.” Enjoy!

Are you tired? Yawning away as if trying to catch some energy from mid-air to keep you going.
Of course you’re too polite to say so, but do I bore you?  I know I switch off from things that don’t interest me, and stifling a yawn can only be disguised once or twice. Perhaps that was why ladies of yesteryear were given fans to hide behind.
Lack of oxygen is it? That’s the scientific reasoning, that a yawn is the opening of the airways, so maybe they are energy catchers after all.
Yawns are tiring, so it’s all inter-related and must be time for bed.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. This didn’t make me yawn, so that’s s good thing. Good work

  4. I always thought those fans from the Victorian age were used for the women to gossip, but I imaging hiding a yawn would work also.
