Got the day off

Well, sort of.
Maggie got me up at 1.30, but once she’d got whatever it was out of her system, she was ok and went straight back to sleep.

We slept until 7.45 so that was pretty good, and have had a lazy day. I also realised that had Hubby had his original hospital appointment today, we would have been VERY late.
It’s been nice to plod.
We had some shopping to do, so had a field trip after showers and breakfast.

As well as boring stuff like bread, cheese, dog food and breakfast cereal, we also bought a boiled egg slicer, new entrance mat, new pair of slippers for me, a shelf, socket timer, power detector and small thermometer.
(Our life is so exciting!!!)
The mat and slippers needed to be replaced after I failed to notice a Maggie deposit in the garden which got into the fibres of both. E-ew. The slippers stayed outside and were soon joined by the mat.

The shelf and the power detector go hand in hand as Hubby plans to put one up in the kitchen between two power point locations and wanted to check where the wiring went. I have seen first hand what happens when you put a nail through an electricity cable, and also when without thinking, that nail is retrieved (no, it wasn’t me or Hubby).  Idiot!

The thermometer is for the hall as the existing one was what we had on the boat which not only showed the time and temperature, but also the humidity which is useful when you’re trying to combat condensation. It was guaranteed for three years, which expired in December 2018. Oh well. The replacement is a cheapie that just shows the temperature.

The socket timer is a replacement and the boiled egg slicer because I love boiled eggs and get fed up when everything falls apart trying to cut one for a sandwich!

I have also had a lazy day in the kitchen…………… pizza portions and wedges for lunch, and a tuna baguette for our later meal. Naughty but nice add doughnuts as I needed a sugar fix because I was feeling tired and headachy.

Not much to add to the blogosphere today.
After yesterday, I can hear your relief!!!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
