Song Lyric Sunday: 10th February

Jim has given us River/Stream/Brook for our theme this week.

Boney M, Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, all come immediately to mind, but this week I’m going with The Bee Gees.
I loved their music way before Saturday Night Fever and they have had hits in every decade since the 50s.
Barry Gibb is the sole survivor since the death of twins Maurice in 2003 and Robin in 2012.

The lyrics are in the video

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I feel badly for Barry, because he lost Andy, too. I thought Dolly Parton wrote this, but it was The Bee Gees. Great song no matter who does it.

    • Yes, I remember Andy too but he was a solo artist I believe. From what I read, the Bee Gees wrote all their own matieral, and Barry has also penned great stuff for Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross. IMO his knighthood last year was well overdue.

  2. Love it, great way to start off my day with this song.

  3. J-Dub says:

This is a beautiful song. Didn’t know The BeeGees wrote it, glad to know they did. They sound so perfect together ❤

  5. Mary B says:

I had forgotten that Barry had written this song. I always think of Dolly Parton singing it.

Hadn’t heard this one in a while. Great pick!

  8. Loved Dolly and Kenny’s version, but I’m all over anything sung by the Brothers Gibb! 👍👍👍😊
