Maggie as a puppy

These were in the photo box.
Cue cute alert, and I make no apologies for it.

We brought Maggie home on Friday March 11th 2005. Hubby had collected me from work after I’d asked that morning if we could get another dog, even though it was just 6 days since we’d lost Barney so suddenly.
If we hadn’t had the satnav, we would never have found the farm which was way out in the sticks near Axminster.
She was one of 10 pups, 7 bitches and 3 dogs, and she picked me.

This is the first night on the sofa (we started of as we meant to go on, sigh) and the first picture of her:
That first night I slept on the floor in the lounge as she slept in a drawer using an old jumper of Hubby’s as a cushion as we’d gotten rid of everything when Barney died.
I woke up in the early hours to feel a furry body snuggling into me, so I got up to let her out for a wee, she performed for me (only 7 weeks!) then I put her back in the drawer and settled back down to sleep. I woke up in the morning to find her curled up alongside me.

It’s surprising how fast puppies grow isn’t it.
She was about 6 months old here.
These 2 pictures were taken the following year and she was getting those ‘springer’ ears.
We moved away from Poole in June 2007, living in a tent as we were house hunting and getting rained out on a regular basis, so we invested in a caravan.
True to form, the sun came out, but six weeks later we’d found a house and the purchase went through in just 10 days.

This is one of the first pictures taken when we’d finished the lounge in the cottage. It had been up on the wall in a frame with umpteen others so hasn’t fared very well in scanning and size adjustment.
These pictures were also taken in the cottage but have been used before

Now here she is at 14 (picture taken February 4th 2019).

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

We’ve gone through the photo box and found the original snapshots so there is quite a selection for our canvas now.

Those eyes! You held her attention from behind the camera!! It is the look of adoration and expectation…
