I dream of Maggie

It’s not often I dream about the dog, but I did last night, and it was a little unnerving.
In my dream, I’d taken her with me to the launderette (which I actually did yesterday) and was approached by a guy asking where he could do his washing. He said I had a cute dog.
I thanked him and told him where the launderette was, but not mentioning I was going there too.
I didn’t see him in the launderette, but when I came out twenty minutes later, the car, with Maggie inside, was gone!
I was frantic, running up and down the road asking anyone and everyone if they’d seen this guy, my car or Maggie.
Dreams sometimes are never logical as the scene changed to Hubby and I searching for the car by the park when Maggie came running up to us followed by half a dozen angry people yelling at her and then us as she’d run across the road (no accidents or injuries though).
She threw herself into my arms and we checked her over, explaining to everyone what had happened and that she was looking for us after probably being dumped. We added that she wasn’t disobedient, just hard of hearing. Everyone’s attitude changed and they all made a fuss of her.
Then I woke up.

It’s our worst nightmare if we have to leave her in the car as from a distance she looks like a young dog and we are aware that some have been stolen from cars and gardens for puppy farms. Should this scenario ever occur, I dread to think what would happen to her.
I haven’t let her out of my sight today.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Poor you, that is an awful dream for sure. Awfully glad it was just a dream and Maggie’s fine.

  2. It’s amazing how much we all grow to love all our pets.
