Week of 01-22 through 01-28-2019

Another photoprompt challenge that I enjoy on a weekly basis.
This is what we have today, provided for us by H.R.R. Gorman:
She could hear them giggling.
The studio was a mess but she knew what it was all about.
She stood with her hands on her hips and trying to keep a straight face said
‘This is not funny, or cute, and it’s not going to work! Now come out!’
The giggling intensified as her six year old twins emerged from the tissue bunting.
‘Now what did Daddy tell you?’
‘But Mom………. it couldn’t do anything worse than this. We’ve seen it on TV!’
‘We’ve said No. Now help me clear up. The cost of the rolls is coming out of your allowance. It’s wasteful!’
‘Pleeeease? We’ll help look after it.’
‘No………. you cannot have…………….’
She stopped in mid sentence as Clyde appeared in the doorway with a bundle of fur in his arms.
The girls went nuts dancing around their father as the puppy squirmed and peed in its excitement.
Meredith looked across at the three of them and grinned.
‘Traitor!’ she laughed.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

What a delightful story! It brought back memories of when my father brought home Pepper, the only female dog we had and our favorite.

    • I had a heinz variety called Pepper. She was a rescue taken on by my sister in law at the time who couldn;t cope so left it with my parents in law who also couldn’t cope due to ill health. She was a sweetheart amd I have fond (and sad) memories.

  7. Hahaha! Sweet story! I’m so glad the kids got their puppy! Great story!

  8. A heartwarming story on a cold day – just what I needed! Absolutely delightful.
