Our prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 20th is brought to us by Jill at J-Dubs Grin and bear It!
Jill’s word for our prompt today is “serendipity.”
This was actually one of my favourite films from 2001 starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
Two people meet by chance during the sales (of all things) and fall in love. However, rather than act immediately, they separate, she signing a book with her phone number and giving it to charity, and he putting his number on a dollar bill and spending it.
They agree that if they are destined to be together, the book and note will end up in each other’s possession eventually.
The simple definition of Serendipity is an unplanned fortunate discovery.
Hubby and I were a bit like that as we would go to the same places but on different nights, and when he was in the Falklands after the conflict, the guy in front of hm picked my letter out of the penpal box. So, with a little nudge by him placing an ad in the local paper, we were meant to be together, though had we met years before, we certainly wouldn’t appreciate what we have now.
This ties in well with the prompt I supplied of Companionship for the 18th.
A wonderful story.
I will have to re-watch the movie Serendipity. I had forgotten the premise. Sounds better than I recall.
I loved it. I learned about Casseiopeia and can recognise it in the night sky now.
Thanks cool 😎. I’m that way with Orion. I took astronomy for my science. I wish I could remember more about the constellations 🌌
We have a clear view of that too, one of the pleasures of a clear Lincolnshire sky
So entertaining. You are a complete star.
You’re very kind to say so. Most people think I’m a windbag, but then I know that already!!!
😀
How wonderful!❤
