Another Sunday challenge I enjoy in which we choose one from each category and weave a tale or poem around them:

Our choices to work with this week:
A Special Occasion
Moving, Anniversary, Engagement, Graduation, Just Because.
A Texture
Malleable, Embossed, Knitted, Blistered, Jagged
A Feeling Word
Despair, Rapture, Expectancy, Resignation, Mortification
A Sound
Cracking, Tinkling, Sobbing, Grinding, Rustling
Something Seen in the Periphery
A shadowy figure moving at a staccato pace
An intermittent flicker of light
The expression of a companion not meant to be witnessed
Colorful geometric shapes
A vehicle speeding off
The embossed invitations to her engagement party were due to go out that week, but her excitement had turned to despair when they told her.
Her sobbing echoed through the house, her mother holding her close as the vehicle sped off with her ‘fiance’ and best friend inside.
Everyone’s nightmare isn’t it.
It happens, but better to find out before the wedding. I should have heeded my own reservations and not got married the first time, although there was no-one else involved, just a mistake on both parts.
Great post
Thank you!
You’re welcome
