The Friday Reminder for #SoCS & #JusJoJan 2019 Daily Prompt – Jan. 12th

Our prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “art.” Linda says
Talk about something that’s hanging on your wall. Add a picture, if you’d like. If you have no art on your walls, talk about something in a museum. Have fun!

I remember the pictures stuck to the fridge with pride. Each week there was a new addition, but none were ever thrown away. I started a scrapbook, but have no idea where it is now, probably discarded as the finder would have no idea of the sentiment attached.
I do have one piece of art painted for me by a child though. It’s something I treasure, as it was done for me by my niece some 27 odd years ago having overheard me mention to my Mum that I loved dolphins and whales.
Mum did a dolphin tapestry for us one Christmas and had it framed, though it and the others she did for us are on cushions now.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Those are truly precious pieces of art! Lovely post 💜💜💜

  3. We have a simple tapestry on wall. It came from my partners family side. It’s made by a young girl and it’s over 200 years old. I’ve no idea who the girl is or why it’s been treasured. But it is special. Love this post.

    • Thank you. Mum took up tapestry as she couldn’t knit as much as she used to. She did several over the years and had them all professionally framed to give as gifts. We couldn’t hang them on the boat so took them out of their frames and put them on cushion covers. We still have them and I would never part with them.

Have to say the Owl is the one that really caught my eye! Odessa just jumped out at me. 🙂 But I love them all, thanks for sharing them with us Di.
