He was the talk of the town, especially when the removal trucks arrived with his furniture. He felt their envy as his possessions were carried in and arranged as per his precise instructions. Huge solid pieces of oak, a sixty four inch plasma TV, state of the art hi-fi equipment, his Chesterfield leather suite, and a four poster bed no less!
He didn’t care for their good wishes or words of welcome, snubbing the well-wishers with a firm closing of the door in their faces.

The snow was unexpected, but the villagers worked together to clear drives and paths, looking after the old folk and making sure they had basic provisions and means of heat.
He didn’t bother or offer. He had it all and was quite comfortable thank you very much!
It was a different story the next day when he couldn’t get out of his back door thanks to a snow drift.
He was the talk of the town…………. how everyone had piled the snow up against his house.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
