Song Lyric Sunday: Guest host

Helen is taking a much needed break and Jim is taking over the reins during her absence. Jim has chosen the theme “doctor/health/medicine” for his first outing.

Rather than the upbeat Doctor My Eyes (Jackson Five) or Doctor Doctor (Thompson Twins), I’m feeling rather mellow on this Sunday afternoon so I’ve gone with Lara’s Theme, “Somewhere, My Love” from the 1965 Movie “Doctor Zivago” .

Somewhere, my love
There will be songs to sing
Although the snow
Covers the hope of spring
Somewhere a hill
Blossoms in green and gold
And there are dreams
All that your heart can hold

Someday we’ll meet again, my love
Someday whenever the spring breaks through

You’ll come to me out of the long ago
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow
Till then my sweet
Think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again

Now on my own, think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again

Songwriters: MAURICE JARRE, PAUL FRANCIS WEBSTER

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

What a great choice! Sherky didn’t think of that one but she has a lot of catching up to do music wise 😁🙋🐶

  5. Excellent choice! OMG I haven’t heard that in soooo long. What a fabulous song.

Love the song! I don’t think I ever saw the movie, though. We always played this song in our orchestra concerts back in high school.
