FOWC with Fandango — Underdog

You can guarantee that if there’s a contest or football match, Hubby and I will both root for the underdog.
I think it stems from both of us being such for different reasons, and we always like it when they get the better of the favourites.
Classic of course (to me) is the FA Cup Final on May 14th 1988 between Wimbledon and Liverpool.
‘The Wombles’ as they were known won 1 -0 in the biggest shock in football history.
I was playing for the ladies darts team, and the club jukebox was forever playing The Wombling Song, much to the annoyance and frustrating reminder to all footie fans, Liverpool followers or not .
Turned out that it didn’t matter what song you selected on the box, The Wombles were it!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
