Here we go with our first 2019 weekend writing prompt from Sammi.

Sally looked at her boy and scolded
‘What were you thinking?’
‘We’re learning about foundations at school, and I thought I’d borrow some.’
‘What? Surely they’re not teaching you about make-up in class?’
Visions of Boy George in all his finery flashed before her. Tom was only seven.
‘No. Buildings. We’ve been playing with plastic bricks and I thought I’d lay them on something solid, just like they do on Dad’s building site.’
‘Foundation cream is not building material!’
‘Then why does Dad say it fills the cracks in your face?’

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Lol Di. This is real good
Thanks Lorraine
A real witty guy.
Ha! Daddy is in big trouble! Nicely done. 🙂
Thanks Diana. Thanks too for the follow. Welcome to my blog!
I’ve read lots of your wonderful responses to Sue’s prompts in the past, so I’m happy to connect. 🙂 Happy Writing!
You are very kind! I’m looking forward to participating in your challenges too.
Cannot like! I broke out into a laugh!
It was a favourite saying of my Dad’s when some ladies used too much makeup. 😀
So funny! Fill in the cracks indeed… I agree with your dad. I never touch the stuff!
I don’t either (and never foundation anyway), and haven’t for about 40 years!
And I dunno about you, but my face is a lot less “damaged” than those who pile on that gunk…
I’ve always been lucky with my skin and put it down to just that. My Mum didn’t use cosmetics and she had good skin too.
Same here. But honestly…Those young chicas are headed for yuck…
Clever!
Thanks Violet.
Your sweet story made me smile !!
I’m pleased! Thanks for commenting.
That last line is simply brilliant. Certainly raises a smile.
Thanks Carol. Memories of my Dad saying that.
Dear Di,
Out of the mouths of babes. This one made me crack a smile. 😉
Shalom,
Rochelle
