This time of year is usually a magical time, especially for kids (and me when we went into the garden centre the other week).
It’s a shame it’s too commercialised by far, and the price of festive and traditional goodies increases to line someone else’s pocket, but as adults, we’re not supposed to mind that, so intent are we in bringing something special to our families.
Years ago I loved to see the kiddies happy and excited faces as they queued to see Father Christmas, a rosy cheeked figure larger than life with a belly to match. He’d sit on a throne in a magical grotto surrounded by elves and automaton animals.
It’s rare to see something like that today…………… Santa might be the same, but the kids?
