Our line for this week is:

Florence paused at the door, “what the hell did you just say?”

‘I said you can’t leave.’
‘Just watch me you arrogant ass. I am not staying here, and you can’t make me.’
‘Actually, I can. It was in the agreement you signed.’
‘What?’
‘ You know, that contract granting your heart’s desire and never wanting for anything.’
‘ I read it very carefully, especially the small print!’
‘My dear Florence,’ he said approaching her softly. ‘Surely you weren’t naive enough to believe you would get everything at no cost?’
‘I want to leave. That’s my heart’s desire now.’
‘No. We made a bargain, and I have delivered on my part. You should have been more careful what you wished for my dear. After all, you made a deal with the Devil.’
‘I didn’t know that! You confused me! I want to go home!’
‘But Florence, this is your home. It’s everything you wanted. And here you shall remain.’
With that, he was gone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
