Dear Diary 7th December

Well the Met Office got it right and we were bombarded with heavy rain this morning from the early hours.
I had a bad night and was still awake at 2.30. Maggie wanted to go out at half past six, so as Hubby was still asleep (he has also not been sleeping well), I got dressed,  put on my waterproof jacket and took Maggie out into the back garden.
I dried her off, then went back to bed for an hour.

That hour extended to 3, and as it was on the boat, I seem to sleep my heaviest between 6.30 and 8. No matter, I obviously needed it, and so did Maggie as she was still snoring when I began to surface!

Not much on the agenda today, and I’m glad our eye tests have been postponed until January. It seems that the NHS will only allow one free test a year for the over 60s, unless it is proven there has been a significant change.
Hubby and I both believe we will need new glasses this time, but should we not, we would be charged nearly £60 and quite honestly for the sake of a few weeks, I’d rather not run that risk.

So all that’s needed today is to collect my prescription and get a couple of boxes of breakfast cereal as what I thought was Hubby’s muesli was actually porridge. Oops.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

It’s good if you can catch up on a little sleep – whenever you can. 🙂
These days I wake early thanks to the Olive Thrush. Most days I do not get back to sleep. Oh well – it’s not as if I am a brain surgeon! 😀
