Will be away again for the majority of the day, reading my book in the ‘new library’ aka car park.
Loads of things going through my mind, but Hubby had some positive research results last night and at least I went to bed feeling less worried.
OTC remedies are all well and good, but sometimes little things like ‘not to be taken with certain medication’ isn’t on the label, so when you think you’re doing something good for your health, you could actually be screwing it up (hopefully we’ll find out later today if this is what has happened with Hubby).
Oh this is so familiar in the losing weight game, been there done that for thirty odd years, but have finally got my body back into some kind of shape (even if a little more rotund than I would currently like) and working on a sensible diet for life, rather than a quick fix.
But, and here is something interesting (well to me anyway), the meds prescribed for my reflux are actually stopping the body from absorbing the vitamins in my food, so that could account for
a) why my cold took so long to bugger off
b) why I was feeling tired and drained all the time
c) why despite being ‘good’ (mostly) the weight loss has stalled.
So, I started taking OTC multivits just over a week ago (the 19th to be exact), and I feel miles better. I’m not so tired, am sleeping better, and perhaps the diet is working again (next week’s weigh in will tell).
My morning pill cocktail now consists of a multivit, garlic capsule (keeps my blood pressure under control) and glucosamine for my arthritis.
My bedtime duet are my post cancer and reflux meds.
If you cut me open, I’d probably resemble a tube of smarties.
I might even rattle when I walk, but that could be wind I guess.
