The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 24/18

This week Linda says our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “digest.”

At school, I never seemed to digest our reading material the way we were supposed to.
You could say I got the wrong end of the stick, or simply didn’t understand, but then the books we had to read at grammar school weren’t our own choices and from what I can remember, damn boring.

Then in biology we would learn how our bodies digest food, yet there are some foods that are not broken down and pass through our systems unchanged, such as sweetcorn and mushrooms! I don’t remember learning that bit at school!
That reminds me of the ex husband giving our dog left over spaghetti pasta and not telling me. I had a horrendous shock the following morning and thought she had passed hundreds of worms! He thought it was funny, but I wanted to smack him over the head and let him digest my anger!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
