This week compose a tale/poem in which you explore the concept of a knight
Check out Michael’s challenge here:
I’m going to recycle a poem from my poem scrapbook of years ago
Dreams of Childhood Fantasy
When I grow up I’d like to see
A Knight in Armour rescue me
From a castle tower high
Beneath a moon and starlit sky.
A wicked witch would hold me there
In dark and dismal stale dank air,
He’d carry me away, set free
From this, a childhood fantasy.
As years progress, I’ll see the World,
My body tanned, hair bleached and curled,
See the sights, things strange and new,
I’ll be the envy of all of you.
Sail across the oceans wide,
Discover a continent on the new tide,
Conquer the land, name it after Me,
In this, another fantasy.
As time goes by, I’ll be a Queen,
In grandeur never before it seen,
With diamonds, pearls, more riches yet
My teeth in purest gold be set.
To reign with cool apparent ease,
Have thousands worship on their knees,
Kiss my hand, and sing to me,
In yet another fantasy.
In my old age I’ll call to mind,
My Life in time left far behind,
Things I did, those I did not,
Remembering much that I’d forgot.
Smile at all my funny ways,
Relive the carefree happy days,
Such beautiful dreamy memories,
My innocent childhood fantasies.
