I loved this the first time I heard it.

There is no ‘soul’ in the lyrics or title, but it is sung from the soul as only Seal knows how.

“Love’s Divine”

Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time threw a prayer, to me
And all around me became stillI need love, love’s divine
Please forgive me now I see that I’ve been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my nameThrough the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes’Cause I need love, love’s divine
Please forgive me now I see that I’ve been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don’t bend (don’t bend), don’t break (don’t break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won’t forsake
‘Cause love can help me know my name

Well I try to say there’s nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me

‘Cause I need love, love’s divine
Please forgive me now I see that I’ve been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don’t bend (don’t bend), don’t break (don’t break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won’t forsake
‘Cause love can help me know my name

Love can help me know my name.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Oh yes…he does. I have a Seal song on the backburner in case a prompt ever comes in that suits it.

  2. Nova says:

Do you host a challenge, or is Song Lyric Sunday something you do personally? I’ve never heard of this song before

  3. Seal is magnificent. This song brings back some pretty terrible memories for me, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is a lovely song. Thank you so much for sharing!

Seal always touches my soul no matter what he sings. This is beautiful.
