Tuesday Photo Challenge – Comfort

The first thing I thought of for Frank’s challenge this week was comfort food.

I think of my favourites, pineapple mushroom burgers, pizza, steak, cheesecake, fruit pastilles, doughnuts, cream cakes, all things yummy, taboo, and off the syn charts on the diet.
Too cruel I thought. A gain last week which I am working on losing, so I am not going to torment myself!

So let’s look at comfort from another angle.
Our creature comforts from soft loo roll to central heating and running water, or providing comfort to someone in their time of need with a shoulder, ear, hand or just a sense of being there. Several of my mother’s friends said that they just had to think about me and it made them feel better. I am a good listener, and will gladly give my time to someone who wants to talk, has something on their mind or is just generally feeling down.

The most recent is dear Maggie since the vet removed the lump from her mouth on Friday. It is definitely an improvement and more comfortable for her to eat and sleep.
With the recent pops and bangs of fireworks, she has been seeking comfort from both of us by wishing to be close. Of course she brings her own kind of comfort to us too.
My photos have all been used before, but she looks so comfy, bless her.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
