FOWC with Fandango — Toxic

No, I am not going with Britney Spears.

Here are my thoughts on today’s word prompt.

Jealousy is toxic, as is spite.
A misplaced word or one calculated to hurt can have a devastating effect on a relationship.
It can cast doubt and suspicion between a loving couple, alienating family and siblings as someone tries to poison the mind to suit their own inadequacies and failings.
One could say it was a misunderstanding, and maybe that was initially true, but when they see the power they have to destroy others by a verbal attack, they get the bit between their teeth and don’t know when to stop. It doesn’t matter what walk of life you’re from, someone will always want what you have, or a part of it, and if they can’t have it, they chop away with the verbal knife.
Slander and libel are not taken to task as much as they used to be, so people get away with their vicious, often untrue and unproven allegations.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
