Monday Motivation Take 2 : week 3 result

I was not looking forward to getting on the scales this morning.
It’s been a horrible week what with this cold and not enjoying the meals I prepared.
They say feed a cold, starve a fever, but when you are fed up with food, your taste buds are shot to hell and your throat feels as if it’s sandpaper, it’s all been a bit of a chore.

Meet the new SWMBO

I made a two day chilli over the weekend using our own tomatoes adding a little bit of sugar, which was quite nice. Day one was with rice and day 2 should have been a jacket potato but Hubby referred rice again, so I had it too rather than leave an odd number in the freezer. I added some mushrooms, but my taste buds were elsewhere and I could have been eating cardboard for all I knew.

What has been taxing me more is what to have for my final meal, as the spreadable cheese and crackers I’d bought simply didn’t appeal. At least they’ll keep though as they’re in individual triangles and packets.
Hubby is content to have a bowl of cereal, but with only porridge or granola to choose from, it doesn’t exactly push any buttons other than breakfast.
In desperation, I bought myself a bread roll on Saturday and boiled some eggs, which was actually very enjoyable!

So, let’s cut to the chase.
As expected, a gain this week.It could have been worse, a LOT worse.
Now my cold is subsiding and there is no darts food on the table this week as we have a Bye, hopefully I will lose a bit next time.

In trying to keep some form of order, main meals this week are planned as follows:
Today: Hubby McCheese, me tomato and mushroom pasta.
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: Stew/stewp/soup
Friday: Fish
Saturday: Cottage pie with mixed veg.
Sunday: Chicken curry.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

All the best for this week. Our apple cart of weight loss efforts/dieting is easily upset by external circumstances. So be positive for this coming week.

As you say it could have been a lot worse. Hopefully you’re over the worst of your cold and can get back on track. 🙂

  3. You kind of knew it was coming and it isn’t as bad as it could have been. Onward!

    • It’s not a disaster, and health must come first anyway. I am tucking into my tomato and mushroom bake which is extremely nice, so the tastebuds have come back! The start of another full week, the diary is out, and I’ve panned the main meals already. Gotta be good!!
