Sue’s given us the following picture to set our thoughts and ideas in motion.

Shadows rule the night,
Drifting across the sky,
Engulf the shimmering light
Without questioning why.
What has the world become
Darkness seeks to rule,
Kindness and goodness undone,
Replaced by ways so cruel.
The way of Mankind is unclear,
No-one can seem to agree
Differences always appear,
What’s to become of you and me?
The dawning of each new day,
Is a chance to put things to rights,
The warmth of the sun’s early ray,
Contrasts to the coolness of night.
Light can be seen nonetheless,
Like a beacon Hope will shine on,
How long it takes is anyone’s guess
For the shadows all to be gone.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Beautifully written. Thanks for sharing
There is always hope… and th old adage holds true about not sleeping on an argment. Wonder if we could get nations to go down that route?
It’s a nice thought, but it won’t happen. Too much greed and the need for power imo.
Right now, I agree with you… but hope knows no logic.
That’s what keeps it going I think.
This is a lovely poem.
Thanks Roberta

I’m here from Ken’s post. Nicely done.
Stars and light seems to be today’s theme! 🙂
Thanks for dropping in.
I love your message of hope, sorely needed in this world. (K)
Thank you.
