Saturday Mix – Opposing Forces, 13 October 2018

Our words this week are:

– harvest and plant

– lower and raise

I suppose you could say you reap what you sow when it comes to what to plant and harvest when growing your own crops. Our original seeds of runner beans died and our tomatoes did absolutely zilch, so we tried again………… and again.
The result was a bumper crop, and acid reflux in the tomato department!

As to lower and raise, oh yes, this has to refer to the water levels when travelling up or down river on the boat and using the lock system. We kept our windlass as a reminder of our happy days as liveaboards. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll help out at a lock and reminisce a little.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Fun. Too much rain for a garden here this year.
I think our grocery prices will be high since the farm field were also swamped.

  2. Sadje says:

My experience of sowing and reaping is quite dismal, actual crop wise. Guess I don’t have green fingers!
