I loved to watch David Copperfield on TV with his amazing illusions.
The magic wasn’t in knowing how it was done, but the wonder of it being done.
All of us create an illusion, falsehood or deceitful belief as we make our way through life, which is nothing to do with magic.
People present an illusion of their true self to others for a variety of reasons:
The laughing joker who is really insecure and nervous, the doting wife who is bullied and abused behind closed doors, the loud and flash with the cash trying to impress as they get deeper into debt, the Grey Man who filters in and out of society unnoticed by most, but noticing everything around him.
Are any of us truly as we appear?
