Tuesday Photo Challenge – Go Big!

This week Frank asks us to go BIG!

We had a full moon in September and it was really big in the sky.
My pictures aren’t very good, but I took this one around 7 pm on the 24th when we were taking Maggie out for her penultimate walk.  There’s a street light directly opposite us so it tended to spoil the effect, so I tried again a couple of nights later.

The nights are closing in here, so the moon was really low in a darker sky. The street light still interfered with my shot, but I was quite pleased with these.

We miss the night skies from the cottage as there was little, if any, white light around us so stars were clear on a velvet background. We had the same on the boat, and I guess if I really wanted to get a good picture with no artificial light at all here, I could wait until after midnight as they turn the street lights off!

Super and full moons affect the tides, and we are beginning to hear the roar of the sea at night again. In the mornings, we can see how far the water has come up to the sea defence wall. That’s a lot of water!!!!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
