Tuesday Photo Challenge – Light and Dark

Naughty thoughts of chocolate came immediately to mind here!

Even when you’re on a diet you can still have chocolate. OK, you pay a little bit more for someone to calculate the syn or calorific value (these bars were 6 for £1.95), but the feel good factor of having something that makes you feel good without having to feel bad is worth it.

I wrote this over two and a half years ago and before I went to Slimming World.
I think it’s worth another airing:

It’s a Sin

A devil, a temptress, a siren
Calling to me, drawing me in:
Your brothers and sisters an army
Of delight invading my soul,
Staring down from perches on high,
Teasing in their torment of guilt and shame.

Oh how I long to wrap my lips around such forbidden ecstasy,
Lose myself in the pleasure of this sin,
Suckle on the nectar of the gods
Disguised as nature’s cutest,
But in truth the evil of the snake’s darkest desire
To woo you with deception
That this is good.

Oh yes, goodness cannot be denied
But not in the way to cleanse our bodies,
Nor can we reject or repel the rapture we feel
Rejoicing as the last morsel is taken in
To disappear without trace
Behind a woeful smile of bliss.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t like these sugar-free sweeteners that do more harm than the sugar would have done!
