SWMBOs of the world Unite

Going back to an earlier post today re a woman walking out on her husband because he gave her the nickname SWMBO.
Hubby thought you’d like to see the real me (or me as he sees me).
I love his little cartoons.
In case you’re wondering, he made me a Smurf SWMBO because the blue dye that I was injected with for surgery turned my boob blue as well as my pee.
He also did one with a band-aid and one being in charge of the boat
These are my other ‘faces’ denoting SWMBO the Writer, (then Smurf and normal SWMBOs), Angry SWMBO, Riot Officer SWMBO, Cavewoman SWMBO, Queen SWMBO,  and ‘The Look’ SWMBO  as I tend to look over my glasses at him sometimes.
How could I possibly take offence at these endearing characters?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I like ‘the look’ – probably well-aimed and easily understood. My foster kids had specific names for ‘the looks’ depending on what they knew they’d done to deserve it! ‘Ooooh, it’s the [enough! be silent] look – watch out!’ etc.

It is, in the end, all about communication, though. And if she left him because of the name he used for her, she missed the message. When I read of her problems, I saw a young woman who probably thought she could change him from ‘this’ to ‘that’ and didn’t have a strong sense of self. It seems to happen a lot – no effort taken to improve the communication – before – setting up camp together.
Just an opinion, along with the old, old, old adage – look before the leap to see the size and shape of the heap.
