Gone were the days when she could just utter ‘Abracadabra‘ and the deed was done.
It was so ‘old hat’ and dull. Much better to be ankle deep in spell books as she was now and agonize over or amplify her choices. Have to move with the times you know.
Being atypical of her predecessors, she’d found their arduous task to avoid the usual angles of magic pretty straightforward, especially when it came to casting spells by artifice. She had that down to an art, and so far, no-one had suspected, or complained, of her interference or gentle jollying along. After all, she was a good witch and her heart was in the right place.
Her almond eyes always twinkled when she was about to cast. It was her ‘tell’ that she was up to no good, as if she ever was of course!
