Thursday photo prompt: Spectral #writephoto

Every week, Sue posts one of her photos for a photoprompt challenge.
You can check out the details here:

She took one look at their investment and wanted to run a mile.
He on the other hand was more excited than she had ever seen him.
‘Don’t you see it?’ he cried jubilantly.
‘All I see is a stone ruin with a few trees on a misty day. Why on earth did you buy it?’
‘Close your eyes, and let me explain my vision.’
Francine did as he asked and for the next half an hour listened to his enthusiastic ramblings about drawing rooms, cosy parlours, breakfast kitchens and scullery, grand bedroom suites, and extensive grounds.
She began to warm to the idea of a breakfast kitchen with a butler sink, huge range, solid oak table and hanging copper pots and pans. In her mind she saw a ghostly figure up to her elbows in pastry, game and home-made jam. It could have been her in a past life.
‘You’re smiling, so you can imagine it too, can’t you!’
She opened her eyes and had to admit the mist was lifting in more ways than one.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hopefully the work required will be worth it πŸ™‚

    • We would have loved to take on a renovation job about twenty years ago (though not quite as much as this one would take!), but would never have had the money to do it. Our closest was the Cottage, and that was 160 years old when we moved in.

Sounds like heaven, I have to say πŸ™‚
