Photo Challenge #229

Today’s photo is by Annija Veldre, and what a stunning image it is too.

I will come to you when I’m ready.
Your tide has turned, but mine has not.
My human heart beats strong and steady,
But be assured, I have not forgot.
Your temper rages on the open sea,
I will return to you, but not yet,
I have to fulfil my destiny,
Your future and mine are not set.
You show your fury, but I’ll not fold
And crawl on my belly into your depths,
Legends are made, both young and old,
I see more than your petty concepts.
Your jealousy rises, you spit and churn,
I do not fear you, but sense your own,
You cannot hold me, you have much to learn,
Retreat, I am stronger than you’ve ever known.
Yes, I will come to you when I’m ready,
You must wait until the time is right,
Swirl and storm in your constant eddy,
But for now I bid you simply ‘Goodnight’.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

It’s funny how almost everyone else was inspired by the photo to create a poem and I did some sort of weird SciFi/Fantasy ghost story. 😉
