OK, I’m ready

I have just spent the last hour copying out the 101 acceptable 2 letter words for Scrabble. to keep in the box with our score pad.
I have also found the longest word consisting of all vowels

EUOUAE  :  a gregorian cadence

and all consonants

CRWTHS :  a Welsh (celtic) instrument

Provided I get all the necessary letters and it’s my go first, I can score 126 points with
MUZJIKS  which means Russian peasants.

I’m trying to work out how as it has to go through the centre square so you double your score which includes a double letter on either the M  (64 plus 50) or K (68 plus 50), unless of course it was his first go and he added it to something already down.

Score Word Name Date Location Notes
126 MuZJIKS Jesse Inman July, 2008 Orlando, FL NSC

As for our home games, I doubt if it will make any difference to my score but at least I’ve planned my attack!

Incidentally, WP does not like any of them!!!!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

In the days when I still occasionally had three minutes spare to play Scrabble, and when it didn’t take far more time than that just to load, I used to go nuts when the opponent would opt for Collins which didn’t like my carefully memorised choices. I like, for egg sample, to use ZO (a female ox) as well as ZA.
I do like those means of getting vowel lent and in consonant!

  2. If you’re ever looking for an interesting book on Scrabble, I read this one called “Word Freak” a few years ago and it is fascinating. It’s about competitive Scrabble (as in, people who play it professionally, which I didn’t even know was a thing until I read the book).
