Weekend Writing Prompt #63 – Crumble

For this I am Queen!

My sister and her husband almost got divorced over my fruit crumble.
He not only had seconds but thirds, and bless him, made the fatal mistake of saying mine was better than hers and she ought to ask me for the recipe!
They left shortly after dinner, and apparently she didn’t speak to him for a while, read like DAYS! Eventually he told her how pathetic she was being and to grow up.
That also went down like a lead balloon as she’s five years older than me.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Elizabeth says:

Your story reminders of me and hubby. In the past I spent days without talking to him because any small thing he did or didn’t do. I have grown up now, and I don’t do more childish things with him. 🙂

  2. Sounds like you might be having classic Southern problems. 🙂
