Entertaining our guest: Day 5

We went into Skeggy today with the dogs and it’s been a good day. Whatever blocked the roads yesterday has all been cleared, so our journey was uneventful.
We walked around the town, had a spot of lunch and did some shopping, including a Scrabble Dictionary. The house rule now is that if the word isn’t in it, you can’t have it. MOH and I had a game this afternoon and I should have challenged one of his words which he got a triple score on as it didn’t exist. He’s an intelligent man, and I respect him as a wordsmith, but he actually cheated!! and I lost the game by a few points.

On the way home, we stopped off at the beach and the tide was the furthest out we’ve ever seen it. We were able to walk several yards beyond The Post, these pictures were taken in front of it, not alongside.
When the tide’s in, the water level is roughly where marked.

The day was heating up so naturally the dogs loved the chance to cool off:

Hubby found a small jellyfish on the sand:

and after I’d taken these pictures, returned it to the water. Whether it will grow up to be as big as these from Hamworthy (pictures taken way back in 2015) I don’t know.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
