Yule love this………..

OK, it’s July, but the tree is up, and Santa is waiting in the wings…….. aka hanging from the doorknocker. You thought we were joking, didn’t you.

Now depending on behaviour will determine which side is facing out:

MOH doesn’t do Christmas……. any time of the year ……. so it has always been perfectly acceptable not to exchange gifts, though we took down a Scrabble set a couple of years ago as he didn’t have one, but as we didn’t wrap it up, that didn’t count.
So imagine our surprise when he said he had presents for us.
Usually when we are visiting each other we take in goodies of some description, but anything in the food line would have cooked or gone off on his nine hour journey, so we had no idea what he had for us, and embarrassment upon embarrassment, we had nothing for him!

MOH likes to paint. His house is full of his interpretations of familiar scenes done in his own style and colour choices. Hubby had admired one some time ago, and he was working on something new and original the last time we saw him.
He nonchalantly presented me with a bubble wrapped parcel of three canvases.
And we were both well pleased.
We already have a signed painting of his in the lounge so these have been put up today and we wonder if he’ll notice when he comes back from his spare parts shopping trip this afternoon.

I don’t think he’ll miss the tree though as it’s directly in his line of vision when he sits down.

And I’ve just blown this up having spied it in the corner of Santa’s picture:
Bud’s finding it more comfortable outside or lying in the hall as we’ve got the door open. It’s considerably cooler today, though still 20º indoors.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I thought I’m the only one! We don’t have the tree set up but I definitely have some of the decorations still out.
A tiny advents wrath is sitting on a shelf together with some happy Easter bunnies.

The pictures are great! What a lovely gift – even more so as it was unexpected.
