Entertaining our visitor : Day 3

England are playing Croatia tonight, so the plan is to tune into the radio for commentary as we have no TV.

MOH got back at 6pm, and the dogs have been good, so a short walk would be in order before we do anything else really.
He got most of the bits he wanted so is well pleased with his day, even if he was travelling for 6 of the 8 hours he was away.

Hubby hasn’t been feeling too good today, so I’m glad in a way that I’m not doing our special dinner as he wouldn’t enjoy it.
MOH hadn’t had very much to eat so I went down to the chippy and got a large cod (would have served four of us but was sufficient for MOH’s appetite), scampi for me, fishcake for Hubby and a large portion of chips between the three of us.

Hopefully we won’t be playing cards or Scrabble tonight as it’s uncomfortable for Hubby to be sitting at the table for long periods.
Overall though things are working out quite well and MOH appears to be enjoying his stay.

What a match! The guys weren’t surprised at the result and there will be a lot of commiserating hangovers tomorrow as England are out of the Cup.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I just got up and saw the result. Sad ending for all you passionate football folk…..but I get the idea it was a better than expected result as the team performed so well. Oh well in four years you will do it all again and Australia will help make up the numbers.

Hubby was well pleased with the result.

  3. And…apparently the place where I learn about soccer games is your blog.
