England beat Sweden 2 – 0 to make it through to the semi finals and will play Croatia on Wednesday. Oh goody, at least the darts won’t be cancelled this week because of a footie match.
But I digress.
First of all, well done the England team. For once we appear to have a side with no delusions of grandeur, egotism or personal glory. A team that plays as a team and play the game rather than ponce about kicking a ball nowhere near the goal to prove that they can, well, actually kick it.
OK, I’ve not watched them play, but they are a young side and want to leave their mark.
And this is my opinion, founded on nothing but interview comments and media articles.
But THIS is totally unacceptable (source)
England fans smash up ambulance and wreck bus stop during delirious celebrations after Sweden win
You yobs, male and female alike, are a disgrace to your country, and your team.
At least it was in London and not the hosting country so we have to clear up our own mess. But think on this you slime, our ambulance crews and their vehicles, should not be subjected to this. One day, one of you will lie in the gutter in a drunken stupor in need of medical assistance and they won’t be there, simply because your ‘mates ‘ decided to wreck it.
Where is your respect?
Yeah, thought so. In the gutter with you.
I hope the authorities throw the book at you and deny you TV access.
I agree; people who do things like this are the reason I find it hard to like sports – they just seem to be too enthusiastic about it all and become violent. I also heard that a group broke into an Ikea to taunt Sweden.
Makes one ashamed of any association with England. These slobs are lower than animals. (Nice to be able to speak frankly without wails about racism that would inevitably come up in S Africa when behaviour is criticised.) Amazing what wretched behaviour results from any fanatical adherence to a cause, be it political, religious, or sport.
Had they pulled this stunt in Russia, they would have been arrested (good) and deported, preferably in the cargo hold.
With some rat traps as DIY provisions.
ha!
I understand being excited when your team wins and I understand wanting to celebrate the victory. But I will never understand why those celebrations have to turn into something destructive. I just don’t get it.
Me neither. It’s pointless.
